MARY FORD
for Sandy Springs City Council District 5

WHY I'M RUNNING

"For more than 20 years, I’ve been proud to call Sandy Springs and District 5 home. It’s where my husband, Jay, and I chose to build our lives—and where I’ve spent the past decade deeply involved in civic leadership. As President of the High Point Civic Association, I’ve worked to bring neighbors together with city leaders, advocate for safer streets, and protect the integrity of our neighborhoods.

Sandy Springs is an incredible place to live—and that’s no accident. Sandy Springs is known for outstanding public safety, strong neighborhoods, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars. As your City Council representative, I’ll work to protect and strengthen those pillars while also preparing for the future. This means planning for smart growth that supports residents at every stage of life, advancing economic development to attract new jobs and support local businesses, and ensuring our infrastructure keeps pace with thoughtful growth. My goal is to preserve what makes Sandy Springs special while helping it thrive for years to come. I’m proud to be part of a community that cares deeply about its future, and I’m excited for the opportunity to help lead the way forward. I look forward to earning your support in the months ahead."

My Priorities

Public Safety
Sandy Springs is proud to have the best police and fire departments in the state. I will continue to prioritize safety investments and community partnerships that keep our neighborhoods secure.

Strong Neighborhoods
I’ll advocate for policies that preserve the unique character and integrity of our residential communities ensuring growth respects the quality of life we value.

Fiscal Responsibility
I will support smart budgeting and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars—so we can continue delivering excellent services without unnecessary spending.

Looking Ahead

Smart Housing Development
Our city should offer housing options for every stage of life—from young professionals and families to retirees and seniors. I’ll work to ensure future development aligns with community input, supports appropriate infrastructure, and reflects the upcoming Next Ten Comprehensive Plan update.

Economic Development
A strong local economy benefits us all. I’ll champion efforts to attract quality jobs, strengthen our commercial districts, and support the businesses that help Sandy Springs thrive.

I’m committed to preserving what makes Sandy Springs special—while planning thoughtfully for what’s next.
